Coaching is one of the fastest growing industries in the world.
From 2019 to 2022, it saw a 60% increase in revenue from $2.8bn to $4.6bn. 2024 saw a revenue increase to $6.2bn.
There is a global market for it and the niches in coaching are constantly expanding and becoming more refined.
Whether you’re already a coach or looking to get into coaching, authoring a book can set you apart from the hundreds of thousands of other active coaches.
The most common type of coaching is life coaching, but I’ve written with mindset coaches, trauma coaches, trust fund coaches, and spiritual coaches (to name a few).
Even within those niches, there are narrower focuses.
One mindset coach I worked with looked at helping men overcome toxic masculinity.
Another mindset coach focused on neural rewiring to overcome chronic pain and sensitivity disorders.
Coaching has a lot of room for specialization and there’s no shortage of people looking for guidance.
Most of the coaches I’ve worked with had pre-established client bases but once they authored a book and leveraged it for speaking engagements and guest spots on podcasts and talk shows, they saw larger, more consistent growth in their client pool.
Any time a market begins to take off, it can become oversaturated, and it is easy to be overlooked.
But coaches who author books give themselves a leg up and a way to stand out and be seen.
