When you author a book, you have 40,000+ words of material to work with for developing workshops and courses.
Every chapter could be a segment in your course.
Several authors I’ve worked with take their books and turn them into in-person workshops and/or online courses.
Workshops are great because you can spend a day or a weekend with your target audience and engage with them in person. It allows you to build strong connections and boost your networking.
You can use workshops to further educate your followers and give them a space to practice and apply the tools and ideas from your book.
I’m partial to the idea of turning your book chapters into online courses.
Courses are incredibly versatile in how you break the information up and allow your audience to interact with it.
Live-streamed courses allow your audience to engage with you directly and get their questions answered in real time.
Pre-recorded courses give your audience the freedom to experience your content in their own time and on their schedule.
Your pre-recorded courses become a lucrative, passive income stream.
The best part about courses is that you can record your live-streamed courses and release them as pre-recorded, tapping into both markets and revenue streams with minimal additional work on your end.
If you’re wondering how much you can make from courses and workshops built off your book, check out the infographic in this post.
While it is focused on book ROI, it’s easy to see how those numbers stack up and continue to give back for years after your book is published.
