You Never Want to Be This Writer

Human Writers Don't Make This Mistake

A recent swath of authors are experiencing so much internet backlash, they are removing their books from marketplaces.

Why?

Because they trusted a technology without understanding the limitations and drawbacks.

Authoring a business book means putting yourself and your brand on a page, in the public eye, and opens you and your business up to a new level of scrutiny.

So, if your book led to enough negativity and backlash it had to be removed from marketplaces, how do you think that would impact your brand?

It wouldn’t do your brand or company any favors, as many fiction authors are discovering.

The court of public opinion is a brutal place.

Left and right, I’m seeing fiction authors called out for leaving ChatGPT and chatbot responses in their manuscript text even after the book is published.

A social media post featuring several comments discussing the use of generative AI in writing, expressing outrage over authors allegedly copying styles and not being genuine writers.

Readers are quick to home in on those mistakes and share their outrage, which has led to the tarnishing of several fiction authors’ names.

You never want to be that author in any genre, but especially for a business book that represents your entire brand and organization.

Now, human writers aren’t perfect. We make mistakes like everyone else, but one thing human writers are great at is catching their mistakes. We have to be, because if our writing isn’t top tier, the negative reviews and backlash can put us out of a job.

In the field of writing consulting and ghostwriting, one of my top priorities is ensuring the quality of writing, integrity of the brand, and marketability of the final manuscript.

LLMs and GenerativeAI models don’t have that ethical or professional responsibility, nor do they have their prompter’s best interests in mind.

Put your book in the hands (human hands) of someone who has the best interests of you, your company, and your brand image at heart.
